Pushing your boundaries

Every once in a while, we need to get out there and try something new. Something fresh and different to what we normally do. I solely believe this keeps me creative. (And in the dead of winter, keeps me from falling into the pit of uninspired hell.)

This past month I’ve made it a point to go out and shoot things I wouldn’t normally shoot in ways that I wouldn’t normally approach with. And I’ve discovered a total new love in the process!

I’ve been going out at night and trying a new technique for shooting: long exposures. While I’m still learning the ins and outs, I’ve fallen in love with the new creative outlet. In cold, wet weather like this, it can hard for me to find new motivation to keep going and keep creating. Seasonal depression is real. But just getting out there and trying something completely out of my element has re-ignited that spark for me.

What’s something that keeps you going in the winter?
